Chief John Moseley, CEO.  John, the team Chief, has been with EMS for 15+ years and currently serves as Director of Operations with San Marcos/Hays County EMS. He has 18+ years of diving experience, holds certifications as Master Diver, Assistant Instructor, Nitrox, and Advanced rescue certification. John also is the team K-9 handler/instructor. Captain Jason Hedrick is a Paramedic with the City of Schertz EMS with 16 years of field experience.  He has been diving since 1989 and joined SMART as a diver in 2004. Currently certified as a Master Diver with Advanced, Stress and Rescue, Scientific and NITROX certifications. In 2006 Jason took over training operations and in late 2007 became Captain of Diver Operations. E-mail Jason.

Don White has been with the Bexar County Sheriff's Department for 18 years and has been assigned to the criminal investigation division homicide, burglary, and in the specialized gang unit.   Don is OSHA certified as a HAZMAT technician and specializes in helping the team safely dive in the contaminated black water environment.   He is an advanced diver with NITROX certifications.  E-mail Don.

Justin Pruitt is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and an EMS instructor.  He works for the City of Schertz EMS department and has been in the EMS field since 1992.  Justin is also an Adjunct Faculty member with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in the Emergency Health Sciences Dept.  Justin received the Medical Directors Award for outstanding service in 2003 while working at San Marcos/Hays Co. EMS.  He currently holds a Master Diver certification through SSI and is NITROX certified.  Justin joined SMART in 2004.

Katherine Fontenot is a Fire Fighter/Paramedic who has been with South Hays and SMART since 2004. She is currently a full-time Paramedic with San Marcos/Hays County EMS with over five years of experience. Katie has been a certified diver since 1993.

Richard Kuehner is paramedic currently working offshore for a Seismic research vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. Richard is an Advanced diver, and has been actively diving since 1984.

  Patti Tuey is a Paramedic with San Marcos/Hays County EMS with four years of experience. Patti joined the team in May 2008 and is currently an Advanced Diver with Stress and Rescue certifications.

Dan Misiaszek formed SMART in 1988 by bringing together public safety divers to assist with recoveries in the local area. Dan has over 27+ years of diving experience and has all major diving certifications plus Emergency Service, Scientific, Search & Recovery, TDI, Nitrox, Underwater Archeology, and full Cave.  In 2002, Dan set a World Record for the Longest Open Water Scuba Dive by staying underwater for 3 days during a fund raiser.  Dan has retired from full-time dive operations and consults for the team on a as needed basis.

Kathy Misiaszek is also a founding member of SMART and an 11+ year veteran of law enforcement and works as a corporal on patrol. Kathy is a collision investigator and reconstructionist and a member of the fatality collision investigation team.  She has her Advanced, Scientific, Archeology, AI, Nitrox, Underwater Archeology, and full Cave diver certifications.  She is a member of the International Underwater Cave Rescue and Recovery Team.  Kathy received the police "Life Saving Medal" for saving the life of an unconscious recreational scuba diver in 1999 and was honorably mentioned in the Central Texas Women's Hall of Fame. Kathy has retired from SMART and consults with the team as needed.
